Leadership

Chris is a native of Butner, N.C. The most important epoch in Chris’ life was when he surrendered his life to Jesus on his 18th birthday. Before then, Chris believed his good works overshadowed his sinful behavior. Jesus saved Chris from this misconception of grace, and granted him faith, not based on his works or behavior, but because of his decision to accept and follow Jesus as his Lord & Savior. Chris has been actively involved in ministry for over 26 years, having served as a youth pastor, associate pastor, campus pastor, directional elder, teaching pastor, and discipleship pastor. In those roles, Chris led youth bible study, coordinated inner city missions & international missions efforts, oversaw men’s discipleship, preached the gospel, and wrote a national discipleship curriculum in coordination with the North American Mission Board on racial reconciliation (Undivided). Chris has a B.A. in Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a M.A. in Ministry Leadership from Southeastern Theological Seminary. 

 

The second most important epoch in Chris’ life was marrying his college sweetheart, Erica on July 10, 1999. Chris and Erica have four children: Daizha, Caleb, Christani & Kirsten. 

 

After many years of serving in the local church, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, and with the counsel of trusted men and women of God, Chris feels God is calling him alongside other faithful families to plant a gospel centered, faith- filled, family focused, disciple-making church in Wilmington, NC.  The need is great, the time is now.
